In this article we answer a recent question; can the rigid core vinyl flooring withstand extreme temperature changes and can it handle a heavy powerchair rolling across it? The Timeless Design Ridge Core products must be maintained between 65-85 degrees F. Anything outside this range voids the warranty. It is also not recommended for rolling load use. A fully adhered floor would be recommended if a heavy powerchair will be in use.

If the plywood subfloor is suspended over a basement, then a vapor barrier is not required. If there is a crawl space, there needs to be a minimum 18” of well-ventilated space below. The ground under the crawl space must be covered with a 6-mil polyethylene sheeting to reduce moisture vapor transmission.
