Pet-Friendly Flooring Options
Friday, August 31, 2018

Are you a pet lover? Do you love cats, dogs, and other pets? Do you want to make your house a perfect home not just for yourself but also for your beloved pet? Well, you have come to the right place. We know pets are a part of the American family. Hence, for your convenience, we have listed some pros and cons for different kinds of floors. Keeping this list in your mind, make your house the perfect home for yourself and your furry friends.

Carpet Flooring

What is better for your pets than a soft floor where they can just wrap and lie down? To be honest, nothing. Carpets are easier to clean when it comes to pet fur, have fiber durability, and can prevent your pet from coming on the couch (something that can disturb guests coming at your place) as they offer the same comfort on the floor. If your pet sheds a lot, then cleaning can be a hassle, but generally, you can simply vacuum to clean up.

Carpet flooring is also good for you and other family members. Carpet fibers can catch pet dander. In fact, research has shown that carpets stop allergens from floating around in the air. This means that everyone in the house, including the occasional guests, can breathe easily.

The only drawback of such flooring is that it is hard to clean if your furry friends decide to pee on it. Your pet might also pull out the strands of the carpet with their paws.

Tile Flooring

This is a great option as there is always a huge variety to choose from, and they are easy to clean if your pet has an accident. There won’t be a stain on the floor as would be the case with carpets. The only downside of this flooring is that during winters, they can get quite cold, making the floor an unfriendly place for the pet to sleep on.

However, you can always use a carpet to keep the floor warm. This will make tile flooring one of the best flooring options.

Laminate Flooring

Wood flooring can be easily scratched by your pet’s claws. Hence, it is better to opt for laminate flooring. This flooring is just like the wood flooring but has a protective top layer, which protects it from damage.

However, like tile flooring, this kind of flooring can be uncomfortable for your loved one. However, you can always choose a small rug for its home.

Vinyl Flooring

This type of flooring is much more comfortable than wood, tile and laminate flooring. Even though it is not as comfy as carpet flooring, it is a good choice for you if you want something that is warm, cozy, and easy to clean. Vinyl floors are water-resistant, so you do not have to worry about stains or anything if your little friend has an accident.
